Nights in Rodanthe

Posted by: earthegy   in All Posts

So I’m currently on vacation in Rodanthe, in the Outer Banks of NC with my family.  I’ve been sipping sangria on the porch in the ocean breeze, waiting patiently for Richard Gere to show up and take over position as my cabana boy, but apparently he’s running a bit late.

Yesterday my niece and I scoured the beaches for pretty shells.  I’ve brought all my gemstones and jewelry making goodies, and my twin nieces are bombarding me with making them bracelets and rings (or rather, letting them do it under my limited direction)….so, not a lot of work being done down here that I’d hoped to get done.  However, I have accumulated a bucket of pretty shells, and if I can get my dremel up and running when I get home and poke some holes in them, I may just have a new line of jewelry.

And darned if I could find any beach glass!  Apparently we live in such a responsible, non-littering world, that nobody breaks glass on the beach anymore.    Ugh.  Don’t these tourists down here realize that I’m looking for more material???
