~Ancient Hindus believed that if they offered rubies to the god Krishna they would be reborn as emperors.
~People in India believed that rubies enabled their owners to live peacefully with their enemies.
~Ancient Burmese warriors possessed rubies to make them invincible in battle. It wasn’t enough to just wear a ruby, they inserted them into their flesh to them part of their bodies.
~The darker rubies were considered to be male and the lighter colored stones female.
~According to the story of Marco Polo, Kublai Khan offered the King of Ceylon a city in exchange for a large ruby.
~Ancient legends say that to dream of rubies means you will have success in money or business matters and a good harvest.

~In China and Japan Rubies are worn to achieve long life, health, and happiness.
~The vivid red color of ruby also means that it is associated with desire, and it is thought by some to be a stone of love with an aphrodisiac effect. Ruby has also been said to cure blood disorders including menstrual pain and circulatory problems.
